Volunteer Development Officer vacancy
Sandy Bear exist to provide bereavement and pre-bereavement support to children, young people, and their families. We work through telephone and face to face support, and with 1:1, family and peer group support groups where appropriate and funding allows.
After 6 years as a charity supporting those in Pembrokeshire, and more recent pilot projects across Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, we are set to fulfil our mission that all children, young people, and families, wherever they reside in Wales, should be able to access the right support, at the right time.
Our work is led by a small team of staff who work alongside an amazing group of volunteers who support us in all areas of our work from governance, fundraising and administration as well as supporting families directly. However, with many of these being located within West Wales, we need to grow and develop our supporter base across the country to ensure we can respond to the needs of those referred to our services.
This role is a new and exciting position to work closely with our Events, Fundraising and Marketing manager as well as the wider team to develop volunteering opportunities and support for our volunteers across Wales.
As well as some of our existing activity, the role is new, and as such we are happy to explore different ways to engage with people that we haven’t before, so we are all ears for those with enthusiasm, motivation and a passion for volunteering, the charity sector, and the work of Sandy Bear.
We are extremely proud of what our charity achieves and if you are looking for your next challenge within a small, growing team, take a look at the role description, get in touch for a chat if you like, and get applying!
